I've upgraded the installation of tiny_mce sitewide -- this is the javascript that gives you all the "word processing" stuff in the text boxes for blogs, etc.

Some pages are going to look pretty weird, and I'm in the process of tweaking those, but they're mostly the "behind the scenes" kind of pages anyway.

If you have problems with the new stuff (it still looks like the old one, fonts are off, etc.), try hitting Ctrl-F5 (full refresh) or clearing your cache. If that doesn't work or you have other issues, just lemme know!

I've corrected a bug, pointed out by Rupert, that prevented blog posts from getting entered when you didn't specify a category. Sorry for any trouble this caused!

So obviously (if this isn't your first time visiting) WGFriends has a new look, and it's my favorite so far.

If you notice anything that looks wrong or just plain stupid, be sure to let me know.

Also, part of the update is the addition of chat (I'm figuring out what's wrong with it RIGHT now, but it should be good to go very shortly). There will also be some other features that get added overtime, like the ability to add other channels.

Anywho, hope you all enjoy the new look and feel -- I know I like it better than the old ones....

Finally, I added a mini-stats image like the one for every member that you can use in forum signatures, etc. It displays a bit'o'info about the game in question. Just visit the game's profile or check out the forum post on it.

In order to sort of "re-align" the voting system towards my original intent for it, you must now be registered at WGFriends and logged in to vote.

The reason I've done this is spelled out much more clearly here.

I apologize for the inconvenience this will cause those who simply want to vote for their game and move on, but that's very much the situation I would like to prevent.

I've also made a number of changes since the last news post. Most of these updates have been announced in the Updates thread, which I'll be using most of the time to take care of new announcements.

Alright, lemme see if I can remember everything that happened/went in this past weekend:
- Image galleries (user profiles only) added
- Add character and Add group links added to game profiles (if you play the game)
- Badges added
- Login should be persistent now (testing)
- Requested Feature: Multi-deleteable messages (plus some other message functionality tweaks)
- Requested Feature: Links to game/group forums from their profiles
- Advertising option added, first advertiser in place!
- Donation feature added, first two donations received!
- Topped 100 members

That's all I can think of for the moment. There are lots of little fixes and things in the works. Thanks again, everyone, for being a part of this community and being patient until I can afford to poo upgrade my server!

Every user now has an image gallery to upload to!

Another big change is that you will no longer edit your profile image through the profile editing page -- just go to your gallery and click "Make Profile Image" for the image you want (only works for your own gallery).

Lemme know if something doesn't work right.

Alrighty, I made some behind-the-scenes changes that seem to have sped things up a bit. But if you notice weird behavior of some kind (profiles not updating, friends not updating, games not showing up in your profile, etc., let me know).

Also added a "quick contacts" list to your homepage. Nothing flashy, just a box that lists all of your friends with a link to profile and to send a message.

Plus lots of little things here and there, most unnoticeable.

Your votes WILL still count, of course, towards your running total. This is the implementation of one of my original goals for the voting system -- to give every game a chance at the top without being dominated.
