And so I came into the trade... I have worked for TMSI, beginning when it was still Frost Shipyards. I worked my way up to Director of Operations. I followed a small group into hopefully starting a new faction, though times have hit hard and recruiting has stopped us short. Currently I work for Tresario Medical Conservatory as the unofficial 2IC. Recruiting for them is not easy, either.
We hold hopes that we will prevail, and a new faction will be born. But deals are slim in the galaxy right now, unless you've been connected from previous experiences, or have heavy fortunes to lean against.

I started playing Elan Vital in the beginning of January, and, I can honestly say that it is a fantastic place to be. Most importantly, for a roleplaying MUD, roleplay is necessary, constantly found, and of a fantastic standard. Even with my odd timezones, I found absolutely no difficulty in finding people to play with, and having, even in the short period, some of the best RP of my stay in the world of RP MUDS (and other games). For anybody looking for consistent, high-quality RP, I'd certainly recommend EV.
Secondly, the setting and theme. One of my favourite aspects of a game, Elan Vital's, I've found, is highly fleshed out, and interesting. The twin-city theme offers plenty of room for almost any style of character, as well as almost all details you'd possibly require: family life in each city, etc. Best, the setting is dynamic: players' actions can and do make a difference.

I first played Threshold rpg in 2001. It was my first experience with an online game of any type and I was immediately intimidated by the entire concept of a "MUD". "How am I going to know the commands? Where do I go? How do I get there? What the hell just killed me?" These were all questions that went through my head very quickly after I began playing Threshold. Luckily for me, Threshold has a highly active and super helpful staff dedicated to helping newbies as well as a newbie help channel for all OOC questions.
RP enforced? Yeah, frightening for a new player, especially one like me who had never roleplayed with anyone since the age of 9. "Enforced" conjures up images of "arrest" and "prison". Not places I want to end up. But Threshold is likely the most newbie friendly MUD in existence and I quickly found an atmosphere that invites one to roleplay in a sort of... utopian community where the enforcers offer helpful reminders as opposed to punitive action akin to the spanish inquisition. With many of my fears laid to rest about roleplay I was free to explore the rich and unique world at my own pace as I navigated the easily-understood help file system.
