Kas is a Centauran- a long-lived, risk-averse, community-oriented, habitually curious, and socialist cryogenic psionically-levitating eight-armed telepathic crystal chandelier.

Kas is very young, but has seen (and been on) quite a lot of crazy adventures. It's learned much about sentient natures and perhaps tempered its idealism and curiosity with a little prudence. Kas used to be a member of a medical/exploration ship (before the vessel's untimely demise) where it was friend, pest, and occasionally voice of caution. It now works mainly as a secretary on a more sedate medical ship, still friend and occasionally pest.
